"Art microscopist" T. H. Saunders showcases sixty images of his craft -- pictures captured with high def photography and precision optics microscopes. Dazzling images of mundane objects -- Tylenol doped with coffee, tea, wine, beer and more -- are no larger than the tip of a needle and are recorded using cross-polarization lighting techniques. It sounds technical, but there's nothing confusing about the colorful, whimsical patterns that Saunders creates with his combination of art and science. On display through Jan. 3.

Faith in Action Volunteer Caregivers (FAVC) seeks volunteers to serve the frail, elderly or disabled in their homes. Men and women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to serve. Volunteers are needed to offer friendly visits and companionship, telephone reassurance, help with errands, respite for caregivers, light meal preparation and minor household projects or yard work. An orientation/training session takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tue., Sept. 28 or from 9-11 a.m. on Thu., Sept. 30. Please call 813-932-5228 for more information and locations.
